CALA Alliance is excited to invite you to a special reception,  2 Voices, 1 Viaje,  honoring two Phoenix based Latinx multi- diciplinary artists, Samantha Vo ( textile, sculpture, installation) and Omar Soto ( photography, sculpture, installation). Join us in celebrating their journeys as they prepare to showcase their work in San Francisco, CA this Fall and Winter, after being awarded a $16,000 project grant for the “Residencies Artísticas” residency program with CALA Alliance. 

Samantha Vo’s Project, “ The Softest Hard”. explores themes of matriarchy, material and memory while Omar Sotos’s “America™" delves into cultural identity, commercialization, and reflections on contemporary political ideology. With Contrasting visual languages, both artists question history and reflect on the future of their communities, stating in unison;

”Where have I been, and where do I go”
