How I Became an Artista returns with its newest community-based Art LAB. Join us on Saturday at the Maryvale Community Center (4420 N 51st Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85031) on August 5th from 12:00 P.M - 2:00 P.M to participate in a clay sculpting workshop with artist Yaritza Flores Bustos. Participants in this workshop will discover basic clay making methods such as coil building and slab building but most importantly, the process of creation through play. We will be focusing on the history of clay making, its healing properties, and accessibility. Additionally, participants will be given the opportunity to define artmaking in their own terms through a medium that is forgiving and responsive.

This program is free with registration.Participants of all abilities are encouraged to participate. All materials will be provided.
